Let The Good Times Roll

Spring is a good word to describe this month at our nonprofit. We dove right into our networking events and already have five under our belts. At these events we are able to set up a table with coffee and giveaways, and introduce our mission to the community. People are amazed that we run a free cafe and also offer a variety of programs at no cost. But the biggest surprise comes from how fast Community Blend has taken off and grown. Seriously, we are equally surprised, but not mystified.

When God is in control the vision is clear and volunteers are inspired. We are dedicated to building community through love, hope, assistance, and gathering. This weekend is our Top 10 Scams Program. We hope to raise awareness of popular scams that prey on all ages. Walk-ins are welcome; enjoy breakfast and learn about the most prevalent scams in our area.

Looking Ahead:

  • Reminder: The cafe is closed the week of June 19th for VBS. No Community Blend programs will meet this week. We will be back full speed ahead the following week.

  • VBS: Why not go out of your way to bring a child from the community to VBS? What a great way to kick off summer. Vacation Bible School is a program completely dedicated to kids. They'll have so much fun!! Mission project: school supplies for Community Blend.

  • School Supplies: Once again we are collecting school supplies to disperse at National Night out in Washington, on Aug 1, 2023. Back to school supplies can be costly, this is our way of helping our students; plus we always have a gift for mom. You can drop off supplies at the cafe during hours or on Sunday. Supply list below. Thank-you for your contribution!

  • Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault-What YOU need to know: Join us July 22nd, as we open up this difficult topic. Awareness is the key to helping someone in need.
